Melissa Ellen Penn, MA, SD, BFP is a certified Equine Massage Specialist. She has served as a spiritual director and healer for humans for over 24 years.  Letting her 'inner cowgirl' loose, she founded Hoof in Hand® Equine Healing Services and specializes in optimizing performance in exceptional horses and their riders.

Melissa began her career with horses training with Dr. Joy Craft, DVM and Dr. Lauren DeRock, DVM.  She is also a certified Bach Flower Practitioner, Aroma Therapist, and Reiki Practitioner.   She has authored books and articles on the subject of the healing power of horses.

Melissa's unique approach includes a system that she has developed through years of research and personal experience. Melissa has a gift for connecting with animals; and they respond to her almost immediately and heal under her touch.

Because Melissa has also worked as an interfaith Spiritual Director for many years, her insights and understanding of human behavior provides unique insights into the vital relationships for optimum performance between horse and rider.
