Youth Program

Programs are versatile and can be tailored to the specific needs, abilities and objectives of your group

Hoof in Hand implements the Cartier Building Block Program Series TM©, number one Equine-Assisted Learning curriculum in North America. This objective driven curriculum consists of twelve 1.5-hour sessions where learning takes place through positively reinforced interactions with horses.

The curriculum is client-centered, with horses serving as partners and teachers, while facilitators act as guides to support self-exploration. Our experiential learning program focuses on one objective at a time and can be customized as a single workshop or a multi-week series that builds upon each session.

Equine-Assisted Learning programs are unmounted and no prior horse experience is necessary

Youth Program

Youth programs are designed to offer each participant the unique experience to work with and learn from the horses through fun and engaging horseplay!

We aim to equip young people with the skills and resilience needed to navigate personal challenges and handle social pressures effectively.

Our unique hands-on learning curriculum offers opportunities for kids and teenager’s to develop confidence, increase self esteem and improve communication.

Working alongside a horse, team members are encouraged to think creatively, try new approaches, take responsibility for their actions, and value diverse perspectives. Through this experience, they learn the importance of trust, teamwork, and respect for others.

  • Kids group: Age 7-12

  • Teen group: Age 13 +

The skills learned in the arena will leave a lasting impact, shaping how they think, act, and lead in everyday life.

“ Hoof in Hand took care to set up a great experience for my students. My grade 8 class showed empathy and patience with the horses and later we were able to integrate what we'd learned into the school environment. Very expanding and heart warming for all involved ”.
